EVO
EVO
The ZEISS EVO series offers you a combination of high-definition scanning electron microscopy and intuitive ease of use, with a choice of tungsten or LaB₆ cathodes
Benefit from Zeiss’s many years of experience in imaging under high vacuum (HV), variable pressure (VP) and extended pressure (EP). Significant improvements in signal yield and contrast ratio are the first step towards increasing imaging efficiency. The Zeiss EVO is an easy-to-use, highly flexible and high-resolution imaging and analysis tool that delivers fast, precise and reproducible results for all samples, whether in the field of materials science or biology. Enable all users to generate outstanding images and process your visual inspection workflows at high throughput.
A selection of chamber sizes and detectors, as well as the option to add EDX, EBSD or CL, allows you to configure the instrument optimally for your samples. At Gloor Instruments, we can offer you the complete package, including accessories, installation, training and service. We can also find a solution to optimise your laboratory in the event of mechanical vibrations or electromagnetic fields that could affect image quality.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the differences between the ZEISS EVO and a COXEM benchtop SEM?
The ZEISS EVO and COXEM tabletop systems differ primarily in terms of performance, flexibility and space requirements.
ZEISS EVO – Advantages:
The EVO offers higher resolution and a larger sample chamber, and is fitted as standard with a 5-axis motorised stage. Thanks to improved shielding, it is less susceptible to environmental influences such as vibrations or electric fields. Furthermore, the system is designed to be flexible for future detector upgrades thanks to additional ports.
ZEISS EVO – Limitations:
It has a comparatively large footprint.
COXEM tabletop SEM EM40 – Advantages:
COXEM systems are compact, require little space and are particularly user-friendly. This makes them ideal for simple applications and a quick start. The small chamber enables short pumping times and rapid sample changes.
COXEM benchtop SEM EM40 – Limitations:
Compared to the EVO, they are more sensitive to environmental influences, have a smaller sample chamber and offer lower resolution (<10 nm). A 5-axis stage is only possible with an additional sample holder.
