COXEM Technical Focus Workshop

Our service technician, André, recently took part in an intensive technical workshop at COXEM to specifically expand and update his specialist knowledge of tabletop scanning electron microscopes (SEM).

The training focused on practical topics relating to system optimisation, fault diagnosis and the latest software developments. Key areas covered included:

• Optimisation of image quality through targeted adjustments to the accelerating voltage, beam current, detector parameters and image processing.
• Systematic troubleshooting of vacuum problems, electrical faults and signal deviations.
• Introduction to new software functions and the latest system updates for improved analysis and usability.
• Deepening of technical understanding of the system, for example regarding the electron source, detector paths and signal processing – as a basis for more efficient maintenance and repair.
• Use of the ion beam polisher for artefact-free sample preparation of sensitive or complex materials.
